The Blue Breeze Band is about Motown-the music and the soul of Motown. The music of Motown is not easily imitated unless you lived it through spinning 45 records until they turned gray from being played to much. Maybe you had a portable AM transistor radio turned into the black r&b soul stations back in the 60's. Or you would watch some of the early television shows that sometimes allowed allowed black Motown R&B Soul artist to perform for the first time on white television. Or maybe you were old enough to go out and hear the Motown artist perform live during the 60's & 70's. If you did any of the above then you had a part in Motown the music that is alive and well today! In Los Angeles black radio stations KGFK and KDAY were my main source for Motown Music.

It never ceases to amaze me that Jerry Garcia and/or The Grateful Dead recorded so many songs by Motown Artist. Songs like How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved Bu You), What's Going On, The Way You Do The Things You Do, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, What Does It Take (To Win You Love), and Dancing In The Street were at one time or at many times performed by Jerry Garcia and /or The Grateful Dead. The Blue Breeze Band is grateful to  Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead, Boob Weir and other artist who have help bring Motown R&B and Soul to audiences all over the world who may not of ever heard or paid attention to the songs as recorded by the original Motown R&B Soul artist.  I remember seeing the Bob Weir Band perform at an afternoon concert at the Santa Monica College back in 1975 or 1976.  I was very impressed with Bob Weir and his band and I will always remember their awesome performance at the Santa Monica College.
